The brief
Lambertz Monday Night has long been a fixture around the International Sweets and Biscuits Fair in Cologne. In 2026, it celebrated its 25th anniversary with international guests from film, music, fashion, business and media, the red carpet and its well-known chocolate fashion show.
My brief was to photograph selected parts of the evening. The story began with the preparations before the event, continued onto the red carpet and ended in the middle of the show.
Among those in front of my camera were La Toya Jackson, Audrey Tautou, Ornella Muti, Esai Morales, H. P. Baxxter, Lilly Becker and Sıla Şahin-Radlinger.
My approach
An event on this scale creates very different photographic situations. During preparations, I could work more closely and calmly, capturing moments the guests wouldn't see. On the red carpet, I needed to be ready within seconds and photograph each personality confidently and to a high standard.
During the show, the visual style changed again: light, movement, the stage and the remarkable creations of the chocolate fashion show shaped the images.
The result connects different perspectives on an extraordinary evening: focused moments before the appearance, public attention on the red carpet and the spectacle on stage.
To me, this project shows what event photography can do: tell a story from preparations to performance, as well as capture famous names and major moments.
