Business portraits and professional photography

A business portrait should do more than look professional.

If you're visible professionally, your image helps shape how people see you. Your portrait should show who you are, how you work and why people can trust you.

Whether you're a managing director, consultant, doctor or independent professional, we'll tailor expression, clothing, setting and light to your role and the people you want to reach.

You don't need experience in front of the camera. I'll guide you and take time until you feel comfortable, creating photographs that feel like you.

Who do you want to reach?

Your message comes first.

Before we take photographs, we'll discuss what you need your images for, who you want to reach and what makes your work distinctive.

Expert and approachable, confident and clear, or relaxed and open: together, we'll find a direction that suits you and supports your professional presence.

Playing with light

Light is one of the most important tools in my photography. It influences how we see a person and supports their expression, body language and the intended impression.

I use available light and carefully placed lighting with equal care. What matters is that it suits you, the setting and the message your portrait should convey.

Soft light can emphasise warmth and calm. More defined lighting can bring out presence and contours. Your personality and our conversation help us decide what feels right.

A natural look. Carefully crafted.

A location that supports your message

Your workplace, interesting architecture, an outdoor setting or a studio: together, we'll consider which environment best supports your professional positioning.

A portrait in your own working environment can connect directly with what you do. A quieter setting puts more focus on your personality.

We'll consider backgrounds, colours and light so everything works together. We'll also discuss clothing and image formats before the shoot. You'll know what to expect and can arrive feeling relaxed.

A portrait that feels like you.

Frequently asked questions about business portraits

Who are business portraits for?

Anyone whose professional image matters: managing directors, consultants, sales managers, doctors, lawyers, tax advisers or business owners in the trades. The image needs to suit the person, their role and the people they want to reach. Private individuals can also book business portraits, for example for job applications or professional profiles.

Where does the business portrait shoot take place?

That depends on the impression you want to create. We can photograph at your company, in an architectural setting, outdoors or in a studio. We'll choose the location together to suit you.

Will my business portrait look like a studio photograph?

Not necessarily. I love natural light. When there isn't enough, I shape the lighting so the result still feels natural and believable.

How do I know what impression my business portrait should create?

We'll work that out together. I'll ask what you need the images for, who you want to reach and what you offer. That helps us decide whether the tone should be expert and approachable, confident and clear, or relaxed and open.

Do I need a business portrait or personal branding photography?

If you need a few strong portraits for your website, profile or the press, a business portrait is the right choice. If you want to make yourself more visible as a brand, that's where personal branding begins.

How soon will I receive my images?

You can usually expect your finished, edited photographs within 7 to 10 working days of making your selection. You'll choose your favourites in a Picdrop online gallery, then download the final edited images in high resolution.

Tell me how you want to come across.

You don't need to know how to pose. Tell me where you want to use your images and what impression you want to make. We'll work out the rest together.
