The brief
Hüttenzauber in Waldfeucht combines Christmas tree sales with a small Christmas market, bringing together wooden huts, stallholders, mulled wine, waffles and, above all, people. Open at weekends during Advent, it creates a meeting place for people from Waldfeucht and the surrounding area.
I photographed the occasion on an Advent Sunday. The images were primarily for Instagram and social media, so the aim was to capture the atmosphere and make people want to visit, rather than document every part of the market.
My approach
I approached the Sunday as a lively documentary, focusing on what defines Hüttenzauber: people, encounters, small details and real moments.
Between the huts, I photographed visitors, conversations and shared moments, alongside details, food, drinks and Christmas decorations. For social media in particular, I wanted a varied series where each image could tell a story and the collection could convey a sense of the place.
The result is an atmospheric collection for ongoing communications, showing what Hüttenzauber offers and, above all, why people enjoy coming together there.
